hi can anyone tell me how to add more than 1 avi file to dvd
i know with avi files before you can watch them on a dvd they have to be converted and then they go into 6 files which you add and burn to make a dvd , but i have 8 small avi files they are about 7-10 minutes long each , how do i get them all onto 1 dvd as once converted i am only able to add the 1 clip , say for instance when i have converted them all i have 8 files with 6 files in each and it will only let me add 1 set per dvd , is teher a prog were i can add the 8 avi files and convert them all together and burn as 1 dvd as it seems a waste of dvd;s if i have to use 8 of them and only put 10min of movie on each , im looking to get all 8 with conversion on 1 dvd , i know how to do 1 avi and convert and put to dvd , but im looking to do multy , and advice please

AVS Video Converter can do this:

    http://www.avsmedia.com/VideoTools/VideoConverter.aspx

Alternatively, try joining the AVI files before conversion using this freeware tool:

ultimately it will depend on how large these individual .avi files are if they will all fit onto a single dvd once converted - some codecs produce extremely large files

I've often used Sothink DVD Movie Maker to add several files at the same time and convert them to dvd; free here
    http://www.download.com/Sothink-Movie-DVD-Maker/3000-13631_4-10669082.html?tag=lst-5&cdlPid=10669083

if it doesn't work for you or if you've tried this software, other free alternatives include DVDFlick and Avi2dvd
    http://www.dvdflick.net/
    http://www.trustfm.net/divx/SoftwareAvi2Dvd.php

if the results prove unsatisfactory, you may have to invest in software such as Winavi or Plato DVD creator

    http://www.winavi.com/en/video-converter/video-converter.htm

    good luck.

Honestly I would recommend Roxio Easy Creator or Roxio MyDVD

These are the simplest programs to convert your Video files and place them on a DVD with or without a menu. And it is user friendly. Once you understand the DVD building process, you can move up to more sophisticated programs if you like. But from what I see you want this for home use, so this would be the best choice.

Also, Roxio will burn the DVD as it encodes it, instead of encoding it to the Hard Drive then burning it.

    Hope this helps!

    I use AVS Video converter
    http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/guides/avs/burn-video-files-to-DVD.htm
It is very simple with this tool
    - download, install and run the program
    - open a file or file you want to burn
    - click “To DVD” button
    - click “Convert Now”
After conversion is finished, it will ask you to insert a blank DVD

I would recommend you download ConvertXtoDVD. Ive been using it for a year now, never had a problem!

It will convert multiple video files (eg: AVI's) to the dvd format readable by all standard dvd players, then burn all the converted videos automatically to DVD.

it is easy to use, fast and it works perfect for me.. give it a try, you'll love it

    1. Download ConvertXtoDVD here:
    http://www.burner-software.com/AVI-to-DVD-Converter/AVI-DivX-XVid-to-DVD.php?exact=ConvertXtoDVD3

It can convert any video file.. like wmv, mpeg, asf, mp4, avi to dvd

    2. Add or drag-n-drop as many video files as the DVD can handle

    3. Insert blank DVD

    4. Click "Convert"

    5. Enjoy watching those video files on your home DVD player! =)

ConvertXtoDVD has a lot of extra nice features too,
for example you can make your own ANIMATED DVD Menu!! or auto-generate it.. add subtitles, auto-burn to dvd or save your conversion.
